Revolution - Mitchell Street
Revolution have 2 locations in Glasgow, but for the purpose of this blog I will be focusing on the Mitchell Street location. Revolution, often nicknamed 'Rev', is an upbeat modern cocktail bar which is definitely one of the city's hot spots in terms of bars. The vast selection of drinks and food options make Revolution a go to for sure.
Background
Revolution is located at 84 Mitchell Street, meaning it is only a very short walk from both Argyll Street train station and also Glasgow Central train station. The accessibility of this venue adds to the popularity of it as people enjoy the convenience of its location. The bar itself is very big, I would even go as far to say as its one of the biggest in the city. Due to the sheer size of the place you are always more than likely to find a space, because even if the upstairs is totally filled, the venue has a downstairs section too.
Revolution again caters to a mixed crowd and anyone can attend for a fun place to drink. They do make the extra effort to invite students in for a more affordable experience by offering student discount Sunday through Wednesday, knocking off 50% from the cocktail prices! This means you will struggle to ever find this place feeling dull and quiet as there is always people in.
Menu
Revolution offer an extremely wide selection of drinks ranging from cocktails, to spirits, to beer, they even do some frozen shots which is unique. You can also get some food to accompany your drinks. Revolution have been quite innovative by implementing modern technology to make the customers experience as stress free as possible. They do this by having their own app where you simply order from the drinks menu, input your table number and the drinks will arrive to you within minutes. This again adds to the convenience of this venue as many people, including myself, hate standing at a busy bar fighting to get served. Service
Every time I have been here the staff are attentive and very helpful especially, if your are stuck on what to order due to the massive selection of items. The bar staff add a theatrical element to the experience by making the cocktail to order in front of you, which is fun to watch if you're interested in that kind of thing. The experience as a whole is brought together and elevated by the staff, which I think is one of the best things about this place.
Overall Revolution is definitely somewhere I would recommend to anyone looking for a place to have a night out with friends, or even just an upbeat boozy lunch, you can always rely on here with confidence.
